GOLD & DISCOVERY FUND
The Gold&Discovery Fund is a Dutch investment fund which invests two-thirds of its capital in Canadian listed resource companies. 80% of these companies actively explore for, and mine, either gold or silver. The Gold&Discovery Fund is the only investment fund in the world that focusses primarily on discoveries in the resource sector. This discovery focus does not stop at gold or silver, but also includes uranium, coal, diamonds and rare earth metals – markets which generate large shareholder value. Timely investments in exploration companies with a significant discovery can turn out to be very profitable. This enables the Gold&Discovery Fund to profit from companies with identified gold resources valued at a mere $ 20 - 50 per ounce of gold.
Interests in the Gold&Discovery Fund can only be acquired for a consideration of at least (as of January 1, 2012) EUR 100.000 per investor. The Gold&Discovery Fund is not licensed nor required to be licensed by, or subject to supervision of, the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (Autoriteit Financiële Markten, “AFM”) or the Dutch Central Bank (De Nederlandsche Bank).
INVESTING IN EXPLORATION COMPANIES
The Gold&Discovery Fund uses the services of a number of Canadian brokers in Vancouver and Toronto for its investments in Canadian companies. Because of the size of the Gold&Discovery Fund, it is possible for us to participate in so called 'private placements' where relatively large amounts of shares are sold under attractive conditions. There is usually a discount of 5 - 10% on the prevailing share price, and a free warrant is given in addition. This warrant entitles the holder to purchase an additional share at a pre-determined price within a set period of time. These private placements are only accessible for professional investors.
